About & contact

Who am I?

I’m Nick, a middle-aged Norwegian blogger into classic menswear, tweed, workwear and cool things. I specialise in waistcoats, brogues, denim and outerwear. I care about the ethical production of garments, where and how they are made. I am a staunch supporter of the small and individual makers and brands.

The blog was started in February 2013.

“WDD’s unrelenting search small batch clothing brands and interest in utilitarian apparel always make his blog an interesting read. He has followed the development of my own store very closely. Customers have come to me on his recommendation. He knows how to match the right customer with the right store” (Danny Hodgson, Rivet & Hide, London, UK)

“Over the past year we’ve had the opportunity to have our product reviewed by Nick at “Well Dressed Dad” on two occasions.  The experience has been great as Nick provides his readers with insightful and critical evaluations of the products he’s reviewing.  I believe his readers value this, which has led to his surge in popularity in a relatively short period.  He’s been great following up with us and very timely in his reviews.  The reviews have definitely provided us with a broader and more informed “audience”.” (Chad, Thoroughstitch, New York, USA)

“Nick has been an absolute pleasure to work with, attentive and innovative. With a wonderful way with words he has helped further our business and boosted our reputation among valuable and attractive demographics. In our experience Nick has provided great value for money and we will definitely be looking to work with him in the future.” (Richard Smith, Shoe Healer, Doncaster, UK)

“Working with Nick is an absolute pleasure. He has been supportive of our brand for many years, and he combines a rigour and natural enthusiasm for menswear, with a refreshingly honest and outspoken way of talking about it.” (Paul Vincent, SHE Kelly, London, UK)

“Not only is Nick extremely well dressed, he has a broad knowledge of the history of menswear that underpins his writing, and actively promotes local industry. As a British manufacturer swimming against the tide of imported goods, we need more bloggers like Nick in the world to remind people why quality matters” (Alec Farmer, Trakke, Glasgow, Scotland)

“I’ve followed Nick from the start, I was drawn to his fresh approach in focusing on fashion aimed at the mature reader with a good eye for quality. That’s why I sought out Nick to see if he would be interested in reviewing our product. I’ve found him easy to work with and supportive of good quality creative projects. It’s no wonder his blog is going from strength to strength and we look forward to opportunities to collaborate in the future.” (Robert Kay, Robert Owen Co, London, UK)

“Nick has a clear and genuine passion for well made, quality menswear and products and being a relatively young brand we really appreciate the continued support he has shown.” (Angela McBride, Common People, Edinburgh, Scotland)

“Whillas & Gunn has had the pleasure of working with Well Dressed Dad for a number of years now. Not only does he have a good eye for detail he is an absolute gentleman. “ (Richard Willas, Whillas & Gunn, Australia)

I am happy to discuss collaborations, reviews and similar.
